DMCI receives $5K chfa BIPOC Mini Grant

Amount: $5,000

Purpose:

Connecting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color households with resources to prevent eviction and foreclosure.

The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (chfa) offered a sponsorship to explore work to connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) households with resources to prevent eviction and foreclosure. Enterprise Community Partners brought together seven total organizations to explore needs and opportunities.

Based on the Community Voice, we heard that there was a significant and urgent need for housing resources. With Enterprise Community Partners, we hosted a presentation of their housing resource catalogue to DMCI network partners and community members during two live-streaming presentations (watch the partner recording here). For our work on behalf of our community, we received a $5,000 chfa, BIPOC eviction defense initiative mini grant.

This grant is referred to as an “initial” grant. Given what we already know from Community Voice, we hope that this mini grant will turn into greater funding so that we can continue to deliver advocacy, solutions, and change to the community, by the community and our partners to prevent eviction and foreclosure.
