Last year, Javier Alberto Soto biked nearly 100 miles around Denver, meeting with communities in neighborhoods from Westwood to Montbello, Downtown to Globeville.

Though the pandemic interrupted Javier’s plans to continue cycling around the city, it hasn’t stopped him from listening to the community he serves as the leader of The Denver Foundation.

On September 11, 2020, DMCI hosted a virtual version of Javier’s bike tour and invited the community to engage over a Zoom call. Life has been strange this year and the community that was present let Javier know. We modeled the facilitation of this meeting after our #ParkHillTalks, encouraging a free-flowing conversation for people to express their experiences and desires for the future of Denver.
